New staff for 2020

With our busy survey season fast approaching, Direct Ecology has welcomed two new members to the team. Our new website has landed

Welcome to our new and improved website.  Hopefully you’ll agree it’s looking pretty snazzy.  Most importantly, we’ve also been bringing our content up-to-date, not least the inclusion of beavers as a European Protected Species in Scotland, and some shiny new faces have joined our team in the last year.

First confirmed Brandt’s bat roost in Scotland

In late 2013, Direct Ecology were very excited to discover the first confirmed roost in Scotland for this species. The roost was found by our ecologists whilst undertaking building surveys for the Forestry Commission near Newton Stewart. An excellent report on the importance of this discovery has been presented in this month’s SNH “Species of the month”

We have moved

Due to continued expansion, as of 1st February, 2016, Direct Ecology has a new home. We are still in Dunblane, but in more spacious premises at Duckburn Industrial Estate. Our new address is Block 2, Unit 1, Duckburn Industrial Estate, Dunblane FK15 0EW, or here. We also now have an additional telephone number: 01786 820036.

Spring Newsletter 2014

Spring Newsletter 2014 2013 was an extremely busy year for Direct Ecology Ltd; one which saw us working on a range of projects from major national developments like the Forth Replacement Crossing to small projects for private clients. New ECoW contract for DEL

We are pleased to have been awarded the Ecological Clerk of Works (ECoW) contract for a new hydro-scheme near Loch Lomond, for DHG Hydro Ltd.  We will be starting on site with reptile mitigation work.

DEL staff gain Marine Mammal Observation (MMO) qualifications

We now have two staff members fully trained and JNCC certified in Marine Mammal Observation (MMO).  We are pleased to be adding yet another discipline to our skill set and look forward to exploring further opportunities undertaking offshore survey with clients old and new.
